What is a Care Taxi?
Not Just a Taxi — A Caregiver on Wheels

Sasayaka-maru is “Care Taxi” (介護タクシー)
In Japan, a “Care Taxi” (介護タクシー) is a special transport service staffed by certified caregivers. Unlike regular taxis or ride-hailing apps, our driver is a licensed Kaigo Fukushi-shi (Certified Care Worker) with over 15 years of hands-on nursing experience.
This means we don’t just drive you — we provide full physical assistance: bed-to-wheelchair transfers, help with toileting, monitoring your condition during long trips, and emergency response if needed. For travelers with disabilities visiting Hokkaido, this is the difference between worrying about every moment and simply enjoying the journey.
Our vehicle is equipped with a wheelchair ramp, so you ride in your own wheelchair — no painful transfers into a car seat. Family members ride alongside you.
